Event Details

The Conversations With Our Loved Ones workshop is approximately 90 minutes long and provides information on decisions about medical care that patients and families will face when disease is advanced or life is ending. It illustrates how planning ahead for decisions can affect both patient and family quality of life, and provides an opportunity for participants to reflect on and document their own health care preferences and surrogate decision-makers in a supportive learning environment. The program is highly interactive. Participants work through individual self-assessments to begin to understand their own thoughts about advanced disease care, reflect on possible surrogate decision-makers, and role play initiating a conversation and discussing their preferences with loved ones. kas
