We can help you with your tablet or mobile device; basic computer skills; internet use; signing up for an email account; using Microsoft Office; using the library's electronic collections, catalog, or databases; and more. We are not able to help with hardware or virus/malware issues. Be sure to have any logins and passwords with you when you arrive for your session. We'll meet in the computer training lab. Learn the technique of Iris Folding to create beautifully unique greeting cards for any holiday or occasion. Instructor Susan Fintz will host an Iris Folding Class at the Noblesville Library from 6 - 8 PM. Students will make two different cards; all materials will be provided free of charge. Description

Thirty miles north of Indianapolis just to the east of U.S. 31 on 276th Street in western Jackson Township, Hamilton County, Indiana, stand the remains of an African-American pioneer farm settlement. It was founded in 1835 by free blacks of mixed racial heritage who migrated mostly from North Carolina and Virginia to escape deteriorating racial conditions in the South.  Their goals were the pursuit of economic, educational and religious aspirations with greater freedom and fewer racial barriers. Spend an evening with several Roberts descendants and learn about these African-American pioneers and their descendants that helped to shape Indiana's earliest history. Registration requested but not required.

During craft night at the library, the library will provide, free of charge, all the materials for each registered attendee to make a holiday pine cone and bell door hanging, similar to the one pictured here. Happy 200th Birthday, Indiana! Welcome to the 2016 Hamilton East Public Library Summer Reading Program: Summer Under the Stars for Adults! Registration begins May 1st, but the actual reading fun doesn't start until June! This programs runs from June 1st through July 31st and is open to all adults beyond high school! The goal of this program is to read or listen to 1816 pages! This program has an unlimited number of levels of 400 pages each. Once you complete and record each of the levels, you are entered to win valuable prizes! Good luck!
