The Purdue Extension Office presents Dining with Diabetes, and important four-session series on managing type 2 diabetes. Adults with diabetes and those at risk are encouraged to attend, but family members, caregivers and supporters are welcome as well. The course will cover what diabetes is, carbs and sweeteners, fats and sodium and how to put all the information together. These are Lunch and Learn activities, so healthy foods will be provided. Registration is required for these free events and begins on October 18. The Friendship Connection Food Pantry has made a special request for diabetic-friendly items to be made available to its shoppers. If you are able, please bring a non-perishable food item or two to donate.
